A 1-0 deficit became a 3-1 lead when Jeffers sent an 82.8 mph sweeper to left center with Tristan Gray and Trevor Larnach on base, and Minnesota never trailed again. Bailey Ober got through 5.1 innings with seven strikeouts on 88 pitches, and four relievers covered the rest without allowing a run — Yoendrys Gómez earned the save with a clean ninth. Colin Rea took the loss despite going six innings, the damage concentrated in that one swing. Michael Busch's RBI single in the first had given Chicago its only lead, and it lasted two innings.
