Carter Jensen's home run in the third traveled 416 feet at 106.7 mph off the bat, and it was the only run Kansas City could find for five innings. Luinder Avila struck out seven in 6.1, walked one, and gave up two runs — both in the fifth, when a Drew Gilbert single and a fielder's choice put San Francisco ahead. Vinnie Pasquantino and Nick Loftin answered with run-scoring singles in the sixth. Tyler Mahle took the loss: five innings, five hits, three earned. Alex Lange walked one and struck out two in the ninth.
