Seiya Suzuki put Chicago ahead with his 17th home run in the first, and Spencer Torkelson matched it with his 19th in the second. Then Hao-Yu Lee hit a three-run shot to center in the fourth — his 5th of the year, 105.9 mph off the bat — and the Cubs never scored again. Keider Montero gave Detroit 5.1 innings of one-run ball with eight strikeouts, and four relievers handled the rest without giving up a hit. Colin Rea took the loss: five innings, four earned runs, the Lee homer the one that got him.
