Cole Carrigg's first-inning double and Hunter Goodman's single built a 2-1 lead before the Brewers had settled in, and Christian Yelich's home run — his seventh — was the only damage Milwaukee could do against Tomoyuki Sugano in his five and a third innings. Brice Turang's sixth-inning home run traveled 434 feet at 108.6 mph off the bat, but it only cut the deficit to one. TJ Rumfield's seventh-inning double restored the margin. Shane Drohan took the loss despite pitching six full innings with six strikeouts. Jordan Romano gave up two hits in the ninth and still closed it.
