Eight hits and seven earned runs in 1.2 innings is Michael McGreevy's line, and the Cardinals trailed 7-0 before the third inning started. Ian Happ's two-run double in the first opened the scoring, and Seiya Suzuki doubled in a run in the second and singled in a run in the eighth, and Nico Hoerner's two-run single pushed the lead to seven. Colin Rea gave up one run over six innings with two strikeouts, and the St. Louis bullpen had to cover seven innings behind a starter who could not finish the second.
