Tanner Bibee carried a one-hitter into the eighth and left with the score tied, which is a particular kind of night for a starter who did everything right for 100 pitches. He had struck out three and walked one through 7.1 innings when Geraldo Perdomo singled home the go-ahead run on a 93.9 mph fastball. Gabriel Moreno followed with another single — two more runs, one unearned on Angel Martínez's error — and Ketel Marte capped the rally with an RBI single. Erik Sabrowski came in and faced two hitters without recording an out. Mitch Bratt gave Arizona five innings of one-run ball to keep it close until the eighth arrived.
