Five walks and seven hits in three and a third — deGrom threw 91 pitches and recorded ten outs, and that is a full start's worth of effort spent before the middle innings. Houston took the lead in the second and never trailed, answering every Texas run in the same inning and leaving 11 on base across the night. Taylor Trammell's two-run single in the third came on a 93.0 mph slider, and Elias Díaz's fifth home run in the sixth was the margin. Josh Hader needed ten pitches for the ninth — six strikes, one strikeout, no hits — and Texas went home with seven left on.
