José Caballero hit his 11th home run on a 93.9 mph fastball in the third inning, scoring Ryan McMahon, who'd reached on a 110.9 mph single. That was the ballgame. Gerrit Cole gave up four hits and one earned in 5.2 innings, and three Yankees relievers allowed nothing the rest of the way. Michael Busch's RBI single in the fourth cut it to 2-1, and the Cubs left eight on base.
