Robert Gasser threw 102 pitches into the seventh for Milwaukee and left trailing. Yoshinobu Yamamoto threw 97 in six and left ahead. That was the game, and the gap between those two lines is where it was decided. Andy Pages hit his 20th on an 81.2 mph sweeper in the fifth to give Los Angeles the lead, and Tommy Edman followed an inning later. The Brewers' only run was Joey Ortiz's sacrifice fly in the fifth, and they left eight on. Edwin Díaz walked two in the ninth — 26 pitches, 11 strikes — but did not allow a hit. Gasser struck out seven and took the loss, which is the cruelest column on the card.
