Bell's first-inning homer was hit at 110.0 mph, traveled 434 feet, and came off a 1-1 splitter. Baldwin homered in the sixth, and Jeffers's two-run double in the eighth — 108.2 mph, 389 feet — gave Minnesota a three-run cushion. Mahle went 6.2 innings, walked one, struck out three — 58 of 76 pitches for strikes — and took the loss. Matthews allowed one run over 5.2 innings for the win.
