Rafael Flores Jr. went deep in the seventh to bring Pittsburgh within one and again in the ninth to tie it — his fifth and sixth of the year, two solo shots that decided the shape of the night. Brandon Lowe's 27th, a solo homer to right, won it. Paul Skenes walked four in four and a third and left trailing, but the Detroit lead held until Flores went deep again in the ninth. Kenley Jansen got two outs and gave up two home runs.
