The ninth inning produced ten runs, and Brock Burke absorbed six of them in two-thirds of an inning — three walks, two hits, 31 pitches. Matt McLain's grand slam in the sixth had turned a 4-1 deficit into a 5-4 lead, and Cincinnati was three outs from a win. Riley O'Brien got the save by walking two men in a third of an inning. Peter Strzelecki's two clean innings earned him the win.
