Pedro Ramírez's ground-ball triple to right in the second scored Ian Happ for the game's first run, and Gausman made it hold up — 67 strikes on 94 pitches across seven innings, three hits, one walk, six strikeouts. Conforto's 431-foot home run in the sixth, at 110.9 mph, drove in two and was the hardest ball struck all night. Merrill Kelly gave up three earned in five and two-thirds and struck out four. Arizona collected five hits and did not score.
