Christian Scott gave up one hit all night and took the loss. Five walks in 5.1 innings — 96 pitches to record sixteen outs — and the sixth is where the free passes caught him, when Varsho lined a sweeper into right to score two and Diaz followed with a single of his own. Hunter Brown struck out 10 across 6.2 innings, and Abreu and Hader did not allow a baserunner the rest of the way. The one hit Scott gave up was not the problem.
