Zebby Matthews couldn't find the plate. Four walks in 2.1 innings, 58 pitches, and five earned runs before he was done. Colt Keith's two-run homer in the 1st — on an 87.3 mph changeup — started it, and Kody Clemens and Josh Bell went back-to-back in the 4th. Keider Montero gave Detroit four innings and Tyler Holton added two more without allowing a hit. The Twins managed five singles and scored twice late. It was never close.
