Prielipp gave up two hits in seven innings, walked two, struck out eight, and threw 60 of 92 pitches for strikes. Grayson Rodriguez matched him for six innings — three runs on eight hits, no walks, four strikeouts — but the pitch that cost him was an 80.5 mph curveball that Walker Jenkins ambushed on the first pitch for his third home run of the year. Jenkins's third left the bat at 105.2 mph and traveled 357 feet, and a 2-0 lead did not need the run.
