Toronto's three-run first held while Shane Baz worked into the seventh, and Alonso's 39th — 112.9 mph off the bat, 400 feet to right — had been Baltimore's only run until Henderson's 24th in the sixth cut it to 3-2. Then Alonso's 40th came in the eighth off Tyler Rogers, with Christian Franklin aboard, turning a one-run deficit into a 4-3 lead. Rogers gave up two hits in a third of an inning and took the loss. Rico Garcia set Toronto down in order in the ninth. The three runs from the first inning were the last Toronto scored.
