Murakami homered in the 1st and again in the 7th, solo shots number 34 and 35, the second one leaving at 109.4 mph and traveling 412 feet to left center. He added an RBI single in the 8th, a 113.0 mph liner. Burke went 5.1 innings, gave up four hits, struck out seven, and left with a 4-1 lead. Tomoyuki Sugano took the loss — 6.2 innings, six hits, four earned, no walks, five strikeouts. Colorado's only run came on TJ Rumfield's 16th homer in the 2nd. The Rockies had four hits all night and left five on.
