Jorge Soler's three-run double in the 3rd gave Los Angeles a lead they carried into the 8th, and then Drew Pomeranz walked two and gave up three runs without recording an out. Isaac Paredes doubled in two, Jose Altuve followed with an RBI double, and a 7-6 lead became a 9-7 deficit. Jack Kochanowicz needed 94 pitches to get through four innings and walked five, which is how a starter puts his bullpen in a spot where the eighth reaches Drew Pomeranz. AJ Blubaugh threw two clean innings in the middle and got the win for Houston. By the time Pomeranz left, the lead Soler built was gone and so was the game.
