Luis Castillo threw six innings of three-hit baseball and struck out seven, and the Mariners still needed the bottom of the ninth. Cole Young's single in the second — 111.3 mph off the bat — scored Randy Arozarena, and that held until Amed Rosario's sacrifice fly in the seventh. Cal Raleigh grounded a 92.4 mph cutter into right field in the ninth and Leo Rivas scored. Paul Blackburn took the loss over 1.1 innings. Matt Brash threw a clean ninth for the win. Seattle left eleven on base.
