Pittsburgh had four hits, left eight on base, and did not score. Chase Burns made his first start of the year and threw five innings with one hit, three walks, and seven strikeouts. Braxton Ashcraft took the loss despite six complete innings — both runs came in the fourth, on Spencer Steer's sacrifice fly and Will Benson's triple off a 97.5 mph four-seam fastball. Connor Phillips walked two in the ninth and still recorded the save. Elly De La Cruz's 110.1 mph single was the hardest ball of the night.
