Detroit scored three in the fourth to climb back from a 5-0 hole — Colt Keith's double and Zach McKinstry's two-run single did the damage — but Luke Keaschall answered in the bottom of the inning with a two-run homer to left field, his first of the season. That made it 5-3, and it stayed there until Victor Caratini's two-run single in the eighth. Casey Mize took the loss: 4.1 innings, 90 pitches, seven hits, five earned runs, three walks. Joe Ryan got the win despite 101 pitches in five innings — three hits, three runs, two earned, seven strikeouts. Minnesota's bullpen threw four innings without a hit. Cody Laweryson needed 14 pitches for the save.
