Edouard Julien's two-run single started it. TJ Rumfield's first triple of the year scored two more. Willi Castro's line single brought Rumfield home. Ryan Weiss took the loss: 2.2 innings, eight hits, seven runs, six earned, 62 pitches. Ryan Feltner got the win with 5.1 innings, and Juan Mejia covered the last 1.2 without allowing a hit. Houston committed two errors and left eight on base. Smith had two of the three hardest-hit balls of the night. His team lost by two.
