The diamond fills teal when the run scores; the out lands in the box of the runner it was made on. Names link to their pages at www.feverbaseball.com. New to the marks? The primer scores a full inning from scratch. Every pitch under these marks is typed, clocked and located off the same official feed. A hand-scorer could record what happened; nobody could record the pitch that did it.

James Wood hit a single at 116 mph off the bat and it traveled 166 feet — a rocket that stayed in the park and died on the basepaths. That was the Nationals' night in miniature: four hits, one run, and a lot of loud contact that produced nothing. McGreevy threw 59 of his 91 pitches for strikes across six innings and never walked a man, and Burleson's second-inning single on a 94.1 mph sinker put St. Louis ahead to stay. The 116 mph single is the one that sits with you after the card is filed.
