Gavin Sheets homered twice — his first and second of the year — and both of them mattered. The first was a solo shot in the fifth, 434 feet to right center, and the second was a three-run blast in the ninth off Juan Mejia that turned a 2-2 tie into a 5-2 Padres win. Walker Buehler had thrown six shutout innings on 68 pitches before Adrian Morejon gave up four hits and two runs in the eighth to let Colorado back in. Luis Campusano's first homer of the season was the other San Diego run. Tomoyuki Sugano gave Colorado six innings of two-run ball. Mejia faced four batters in the ninth and recorded one out.
