José Ramírez's line-drive homer in the 1st — 108.1 mph off the bat, 403 feet — was the only run Parker Messick needed. Messick gave Atlanta four hits over 6.2 innings, walked two, struck out five, and threw 84 pitches. The Braves committed an error, left eight on base, and didn't score. Ronald Acuña Jr. tripled for the first time this season, and it didn't change the game. Martín Pérez allowed one run in five innings and took the loss, and the bullpen behind him gave up five more. Daniel Schneemann's two-run single in the 9th was the last of it.
