Alcantara threw a hundred pitches in six innings and gave up seven earned on ten hits. Dingler's three-run homer in the first — on an 0-2 changeup — was the first blow, and Skubal made it hold up: two hits, one earned, seven strikeouts in six and two-thirds. McGonigle swung at the first pitch he saw in the fifth, a 97.3 mph fastball, and sent it 408 feet at 108.8 mph off the bat. It was the hardest contact of the night, and it was his first home run of the season.
