Seth Lugo threw seven innings of one-hit baseball — four walks, seven strikeouts, 93 pitches — and left with the game scoreless. Jac Caglianone hit his first homer of the season in the second, 109.7 off the bat, 437 feet to center, and it held up until the ninth. Then the bullpens traded runs in the eleventh, and in the twelfth Leody Taveras hit a grand slam to center. Nick Loftin answered with a three-run double in the bottom of the inning, but Alex Lange had already given up five runs on three hits in the frame. Kansas City had fourteen hits and left fourteen on base.
