Spencer Torkelson's first home run of the season came in the 4th inning with Riley Greene on base — a two-run shot to left-center on a 95.1 mph sinker — and it turned a 1-0 deficit into a lead Detroit never gave back. Casey Mize made it stand: six innings, three hits, one earned run, seven strikeouts, three walks. Kevin McGonigle doubled in another in the 5th, and Colt Keith followed with an RBI single. Chad Patrick got the loss: four innings, six hits, four earned. Milwaukee got one back in the 8th on Jake Bauers' single, but Kerry Carpenter answered with a solo homer. The Brewers left eight on base. Mize left after six with a three-run lead and the lineup behind him.
