Michael Lorenzen gave Colorado seven innings of one-run ball — seven hits, no walks, 90 pitches — and then Jaden Hill came out for the eighth and gave up two runs on four hits without recording an out. The Mets tied it on Brett Baty's two-run single. But Troy Johnston's two-run single in the seventh, deflecting off the second baseman into center, had given Colorado the lead, and Antonio Senzatela came in to throw an inning and two-thirds of clean relief. Freddy Peralta took the loss despite eight strikeouts in five and two-thirds. The Rockies left 11 on base and won by one anyway.
