Cortes lined a 95.0 mph sinker into center field with two on in the first — his first triple of the year — and the Athletics did not score again. Kumar Rocker gave up two earned in six innings with three strikeouts and still took the loss, because Jack Perkins came out of the bullpen for two innings of one-hit relief and struck out three. Both clubs left eleven on base. Corey Seager lined out at 108.4 mph in the ninth, and the game ended with the tying run on base.
