Fourteen hits and seven earned runs off Seth Lugo in 6.1 innings, and the Royals still won because the Angels kept giving the lead back. Mike Trout's two-run homer in the first — his ninth — and Zach Neto's two-run double in the second built a 5-0 lead that was gone by the sixth. Bobby Witt Jr. hit his first home run of the year, two runs at 108.4 mph, and his first triple earlier in the game. Both clubs scored in the seventh, the ninth, and the tenth. Joey Lucchesi took the loss when Kansas City put up three in the final frame, and the Angels left ten on base.
