Geraldo Perdomo's three-run home run in the sixth — his second of the season — turned a 6-2 deficit into a one-run game, and the Diamondbacks had their chance. They left nine on base. Ryan Rolison was the pitcher who gave up the home run: three hits, three earned, two-thirds of an inning. Jacob Webb came in and threw two innings without allowing a hit, three strikeouts, one walk, 36 pitches, and closed it. Colin Rea got the win — 5.1 innings, eight hits, two earned — and the Cubs' offense had done its work early. Michael Busch drove in two in the first. Zac Gallen was gone after 3.2 innings, six earned, three walks, 95 pitches. Arizona outhit Chicago 11 to 8 and lost by one.
