Ben Rice's three-run home run in the second inning was his eleventh of the year, a line drive to right-center on an 0-1 slider that turned a one-run game into a laugher. Pete Alonso had gone deep the batter before, and José Caballero followed with his own solo shot — three home runs in one inning. Will Warren went 6.1 innings, three hits, two runs, nine strikeouts, and the Orioles never got close. Cody Bellinger started the scoring with a first-inning double that scored Aaron Judge. Cade Povich took the loss, four innings, five earned. Baltimore had three hits all night. Camilo Doval, Jake Bird, and Fernando Cruz finished it. The Yankees left nine on base; it did not matter. They had already done the damage.
