Michael Busch's home run in the eighth, 427 feet at 105.8 mph off the bat, pulled the Cubs even, and his single in the tenth, a grounder through center, scored Dansby Swanson and ended the game. Andrew Abbott had thrown 5.2 shutout innings for Cincinnati with four walks and four strikeouts, but the bullpen could not hold what Nathaniel Lowe's sixth-inning homer had built. The Cubs left twelve on base and still won.
