The Reds scored four in the ninth to take a 6-3 lead, and Pete Crow-Armstrong answered with a two-run homer in the bottom of the inning to force extras at 6-5. In the tenth, Brock Burke walked three and took the loss — the deciding run scored without a hit. Spencer Steer's home run had started the comeback from 3-2 down, and Elly De La Cruz's sacrifice fly plated two more. Ian Happ's two-run shot in the first, his ninth, gave Chicago its early lead. Colin Rea went 5.1 innings and allowed two earned. Trent Thornton won it with a six-pitch tenth.
