Andrew Vaughn's first home run of the season was a three-run shot to left-center in the first inning, and it came on a 95.2 mph four-seam fastball at 3-2. That made it 4-0 before St. Louis had settled in. Jake Bauers started the rally with an RBI single at 108.9 mph off the bat. Brandon Sproat gave Milwaukee four innings of one-hit, no-run ball with five strikeouts, and Aaron Ashby threw two clean innings for the win. Andre Pallante took the loss, going six innings but giving up five earned on eight hits and 104 pitches. The Cardinals got a run in the eighth and one in the ninth but never cut the deficit below four.
