Justin Topa faced seven hitters in the sixth inning and recorded two outs. Four hits, two walks, six earned runs — and by the time Luis García replaced him, Washington had turned a 2-1 game into a 9-2 laugher. Minnesota used five pitchers and only Bailey Ober lasted five innings, giving up five earned on six hits. Miles Mikolas got the win with 5.1 innings of three-hit, two-run ball, and Mitchell Parker followed with 2.2 spotless. Drew Millas hit his first home run of the season, a two-run shot in the fifth. Nasim Nuñez tripled for the first time. José Tena added his second homer. The Nationals left four on base and still scored 15.
