The fifth inning decided it. Braden Shewmake's solo homer tied the game, Matt McLain's two-run single put Cincinnati ahead, and Elly De La Cruz drove in another before the inning ended. Spencer Arrighetti took the loss with one earned run in 5.2 innings — Zach Cole's throwing error in left field made the rest unearned, but Cincinnati still scored them. Chase Burns held Houston to four hits over six innings, and the Astros did not score after the fifth.
