Pittsburgh took the lead three times — in the first, the fifth, the tenth — and each time San Francisco answered, until Justin Lawrence came in for the twelfth and gave up the run that finally stuck. Heliot Ramos hit a ball 110.3 mph and 437 feet in the fourth and later doubled in the sixth to keep the Giants close. Both teams scored twice in the tenth, which is the inning that breaks a bullpen, and both bullpens kept going. Ryan Borucki threw two scoreless for the win, and the Pirates left ten on base in a game they led three times.
