Michael Lorenzen matched the zeros through four before Brandon Lowe's RBI single in the fifth put Pittsburgh ahead 2-0, and Bryan Reynolds added a run in the seventh on a ground ball to second. Hunter Goodman doubled in the ninth off Gregory Soto to break up the shutout, scoring Jordan Beck. Oneil Cruz doubled twice — 112.5 and 111.1 mph off the bat — and crossed home both times.
