Ruiz hit a three-run homer in the second and added a two-run single in the seventh — five RBI on a night the Nationals scored thirteen. Cade Cavalli went 6.1 innings with eight strikeouts and left with a lead that only grew. The seventh inning decided everything: Baltimore scored three and Washington answered with seven, six of them charged to Keegan Akin in one-third of an inning.
