Patrick Bailey has two home runs this season, and his second one decided this game. In the eighth, he turned on a 92.6 mph fastball at 2-0 and sent it 407 feet to right center, putting Cleveland ahead 3-0. Dingler answered in the bottom half with a solo shot on an 85.7 mph slider, but the gap held. Joey Cantillo had set it up — 5.2 innings, 98 pitches, 67 strikes, six strikeouts, no runs. Schneemann's third-inning double on an 88.1 mph splitter scored Rocchio, and Ramírez followed with a single on an 89.0 mph splitter. Detroit left nine men on base, and the only run they scored came in the same inning Bailey had made it 3-0.
