Cade Cavalli struck out nine in seven innings on 84 pitches, allowed four hits, and lost. The third was the inning: Bichette singled on an 0-0 knuckle curve at 87.2 mph to score Melendez and Torrens, and that two-run lead was the whole margin. Peterson went five, walked three, gave up one on Chaparro's fifth-inning groundout on a 92.8 mph sinker. Three Mets relievers each threw a scoreless inning, and Williams saved it on 12 pitches, nine strikes. Both clubs left eight on base. The margin was Bichette's single.
