Holliday's first homer of the season came in the fourth inning — a two-run shot that gave Baltimore the lead for the third time — and the Tigers did not answer again. Pete Alonso's three-run blast in the third had already erased one Detroit lead, and the club traded runs back and forth until Chris Bassitt stabilized it with 4.1 innings of relief. Jack Flaherty took the loss with six runs, three earned, across 3.1 innings, and Detroit committed the error that made three of them unearned. Anthony Nunez struck out two in a clean ninth for the save.
