Yamamoto gave up seven hits across seven innings but only one run — the forceout in the second that scored Bauers. He walked one and struck out three on 92 pitches. The game turned in the fifth when Tucker came up with Betts and Freeman on and drove a 3-2 sinker to right for a triple, scoring both. Pages followed with his eleventh homer, a 0-0 cutter at 92.6 that traveled 380 feet to left, and the lead was four. Sproat took the loss: four innings, four hits, three earned, four walks, seven strikeouts on 89 pitches. He struck out more than half the outs he recorded and still left trailing. Yamamoto has now given up one earned run or fewer in his last three starts, and the Dodgers have won all three.
