Twelve strikeouts in seven innings, two hits, one run — Jacob Misiorowski threw 71 strikes out of 96 pitches and the Cardinals could not find a second way to beat him. Matthew Liberatore struck out ten himself and still took the loss, because he needed 101 pitches to get through five and gave up three. Christian Yelich's two-run homer in the first, a 101.8 mph line drive, was all the separation Milwaukee needed. The Brewers left seven on base and it did not matter. Aaron Ashby threw two clean innings to close it, and St. Louis managed two hits for the night.
