Brooks Lee's eleventh-inning double came on an 0-2 splitter, a line drive to right that cleared the bases and put Minnesota ahead for good. Joe Ryan struck out nine over 7.2 innings on 98 pitches — 77 of them strikes — but Murakami's two-run homer in the eighth erased the 2-0 lead Ryan had carried through seven. Sean Burke matched Ryan for seven innings, allowing two earned on three hits with eight strikeouts, and the game stayed tied from the eighth until Lee's swing in the eleventh. Yoendrys Gómez gave up a run in the bottom of the eleventh but finished it for the save.
