Bleday's first double, in the opening inning, came on a 95.3 mph fastball and scored De La Cruz to answer Ronald Acuña Jr.'s leadoff home run — 112 mph off the bat, 438 feet. His second, in the third, came on an 83.3 mph slider and scored the same man the same way, and that 2-1 lead held until Jorge Mateo and Eugenio Suárez added solo shots in the fifth and seventh. Strider struck out eight in five innings but gave up four runs — three earned — on seven hits, and Nick Lodolo worked six and two-thirds for the win despite walking four. P.J. Higgins doubled for the first time this season to score Spencer Steer in the sixth, and Austin Riley's sacrifice fly in the same inning kept Atlanta close until they ran out of innings.
