Josh White entered in the sixth with the score 5-1 and left it 10-1, walking four and giving up five earned in two-thirds of an inning — the inning that settled everything. Soto's grand slam, 433 feet to right-center at 109 mph off the bat, cleared the bases and gave David Peterson four innings of room to finish it. Peterson, working in relief, allowed one hit over four scoreless and struck out three, and Nolan McLean got the win with five innings of two-hit ball despite walking five. The Marlins left ten on base and committed an error, and their single run came in the fourth on Owen Caissie's double.
